CGV 4DX theaters draw record 20 mln viewers across the world this year

The number of annual admissions to 4DX theaters worldwide has surpassed 20 million for the first time since the new immersive cinema system was introduced in 2009, the theaters' operator said Monday.

CJ 4DPLEX, a subsidiary of South Korea's largest cinema chain, CJ CGV, said that this year's cumulative admissions and box office from its 571 4DX theaters in 59 countries was 20 million and US$250 million as of Saturday, surpassing last year's figures of 19 million viewers and box office sales of $233 million.
